About This Content On 1 September 1939, under the pretext of reclaiming the city of Danzig, German armed forces invade Poland. Honoring their diplomatic treaties and driven by the desire to maintain the balance of power in Europe, France and Great Britain swiftly declare war on Germany. This chain of events sets in motion the greatest war the world has ever seen: a Second World War.In the early years of the conflict, Germany display a successful incorporation of modern aircraft and tank technology into its traditional tactic of Bewegungskrieg. These tactics rely on deep penetrations by armoured forces, supported by aggressive air attacks and prove to be highly effective at encircling and finally destroying the enemy. Resulting in lightning fast victories, the new form of warfare is referred to as the Blitzkrieg.Set in this new theater of war, the new expansion for Order of Battle - WW2 puts the player in charge of the German Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe. Starting with the conquest of Poland, the campaign features the defeat of the Franco-British alliance on the western front, the invasion of the Soviet Union and finally the assault on Moscow in 1941.New Units and Nations! This expansion includes more than 140 new units, greatly expanding the unit rosters of Germany, France, Britain and the Soviet Union as well as adding several new minor nations to the game. Among the German units are the Panzer III and IV series, Bf109 and Fw190 fighter aircraft and powerful 88mm anti-aircraft guns, while the Allies have access to heavily armoured Matilda and Char B1 tanks, Spitfires, Hurricanes and unique Armoured Train units.Carry over your Core force between campaigns! Now it'll be possible to carry over your skilled and battle hardened soldiers from one campaign to the next one! Start with Blitzkrieg - and in the future export your core force to future campaigns involving the Wehrmacht!New Campaign & Specialization system!Play through a long series of blitzkrieg wars and forge your Wehrmacht in the flames of combat! Carry over troops from scenario to scenario, and choose your path using the new Specialization system: gain Specialization points by completing primary and secondary objectives and then spend them on Specializations such as powerful Waffen SS divisions or the Tank School or Auftragstaktik doctrine to gain an early advantage.MławaWarsawNorwayBelgiumFall RotDunkirkYugoslaviaGreeceMinskSmolenskKievMoscow 1075eedd30 Title: Order of Battle: BlitzkriegGenre: Simulation, StrategyDeveloper:The ArtistocratsPublisher:Slitherine Ltd.Release Date: 10 Nov, 2016 Order Of Battle: Blitzkrieg Pack Excellent DLC, gives a good idea of the fast pace of the Blitzkrieg in the early years, eventually bogging down in Russia. The little news snippets every now and then also provide great perspective about the news of the day and what was going on elsewhere in the world at the same time. It is a very enjoyable DLC, with a good balance of weapons and reasonably accurate relative strength. German units are generally stronger, but you still have to use them wisely and it is easy to get overwhelmed by Russian superior numbers towards the end. Nice to play out several historically significant and well-known battles all the way from the invasion of Poland to the assault on Moscow.. I keep getting a message that to continue playing I need "Blitzkrieg", and it does not let me proceed. But I already have Blitzkrieg, as it sys on this page "In library". Im playing the Norway scenerio as part of a campaign. The scenerio requires me to eliminate at least 6 british/French units to win but does not register my kills afterwards. Iv'e lost the scenerio after replaying 5 times now, and I even started a new campaign thinking it would resolve this problem, however, it still persists.. Much light, some shadows. The scenarios are mostly well designed and quite difficult. Usually you need 1-3 try to complete one sucessfully. One big downer es the fact, that you play the scenarios in a given order. It doesnt matte how good or bad you finished one, you cant change or choose anything in the campaign. Despite that, if you loved panzer general or panzer corp, you will also like this game.. Did you watch the film Dunkirk and think Tom Hardy should have been shot down? Good news - you have the opportunity in this DLC. The initial invasion of France mission involved a secondary goal of shooting down a Spitfire. This DLC is just plain fun. Get some Stukas and BF109s and have at it from the skies while your tanks zoom around various locations in Europe. The missions bounce around geographically, which is great as you fight basically every nation involved in WWII. There's no end to the fun. Ride the train from Bergen to Oslo, just like on Netflix's Slow TV program! Save the Italians from themselves! Remind the Greeks they're Slavs! Apologize to your Polish relatives as you gleefully take Warsaw! Also, there's an armored train, which is as hilarious of a concept as it is fun. Choo choo, mother ♥♥♥♥ers.10/10. What a great strategy game! I love and totally recommend this one without any sort of reservations. If you are interested in strategy or world war 2 this is great.. Some of the worst scenario design I've encounted in my 20+ years of gaming. The Dunkirk mission is easily the worst design out of all of them. The your mission objective is to kill every French unit across the entire map - why? Who knows, as anyone that has read anything about the Dunkirk offensive knows that it was solely focused on the destruction of the British Army. Instead, you are playing whack-a-mole with French (again, why?) spread across the entire map while fighting under extremely difficult time constraints. Also worth mentioning, is tha the French will continuously counter-attack into your rear areas (just like they did in real life? Nope). The scenario is just a total blunder and highlights how horrible this DLC is. Difficult? No. Challenging? NoUnrealistic? YesBoring? YesFrustrating? Absolutely! My recommendation: Skip this DLC and stop playing this game. For me, the Blitzkrieg DLC is a culmination of terribly designed scenarios that have not gotten better since the base game. It's a shame, OOB has some great features that easily outshine Panzer Corps, but their missions are just awful.. I love the game in general, but this is the weakest of the DLC scenarios I've played due to the unbalanced difficulty level. I usually play on 3 stars and found with the other packs this offers a fair challenge, but in this it seems too tough. Against the Poles, which should be one of the easier beginning campaign missions I was seriously struggling, hordes of cavalry units coming out the forests destroying my panzer II's. The game doesn't allow you an adequate ammount of resource to deal with the amount of troops thrown at you; as well as this a lot of your forces are computer controlled units which are too passive. I would recommend the Marine Corp or Burma Road campaigns instead which are both excellent and offer a more balanced challenge.. By far the best of the order of battle dlc'smassive scale for some battles in russiathe whole oob series has flaws and feels disjointed with different dlc following different criteriaif you only buy one dlc though this is the one to go for
